Used Minelab Explorer 2 Metal Detector

I’m selling my used Minelab Explorer 2 Metal Detector. I bought it brand new from Joan Allen and have had no problems with the detector, whatsoever.

I used it for about 6 years on land and made some very good finds and then bought the XP Gold Maxx Power, so just used the Minelab for the beach. For extra depth, I bought the Accelerator E 14″ Coil, which I would recommend for the beach.

Reason for Selling:

My new best friend is the Equinox 800 If you buy this detector you will get:2 Coils -Standard 10″ and Accelerator E 14″3 Battery Pods – 1600, 1800 and 1 that holds 8 AA batteries.3 BooksExplorer ll User ManualMastering the Minelab Explorer by Andy Sabisch

My Modifications

Please read carefully before you bid.

Photo 4 – I have strengthened the arm cupPhoto 5 – The locking system. I have welded a small nut onto a steel plate and then with epoxy resin glue attached it to the shaft so that you have cam lock and bolt lock to prevent stem wobble.

Photo 7 – As I am 6′ 3″, I found the Minelab to be a bit short and when extended to its max there was stem wobble, which drove me crazy. I cut the stem in half and lengthened it with blue plastic tube and sealed with epoxy resin glue.

Photo 8 – I cut the stem, put blue tube over, sealed with epoxy resin glue and covered it with black tape. Please note that I have put electrical tape around the 14″ coil’s lead as it had started to fray. This does not affect the performance whatsoever.

I also re-sprayed the middle shaft. If my stem modifications aren’t for you then please do not bid. Alternatively, you could buy a new stem.

I personally think that this detector, on the beach with the 14″ coil, has better depth than my Equinox 800.

Condition is Used. Dispatched with Packlink.
